Ozark Doctrine Christian Academy teaches the full range of elementary subjects. Below is what we cover, why it matters, and what progress looks like across the years.
Kindergarten – Grade 5
Students hear and learn the story of Scripture — Creation, Fall, Redemption, Consummation — with age-fit catechism, prayer, psalm/hymn familiarity, and application to daily obedience.
Kindergarten – Grade 5
Literacy is the backbone of the Academy. We prioritize systematic phonics early, then fluency, comprehension, and literature that is worthy of a child’s attention.

Children learn to form letters well, spell accurately, speak in complete sentences, and write with clarity. Narration and copywork build attention before longer composition.

Math is taught for mastery and understanding — not mere coverage. Students practice until facts and procedures are secure, then apply them to real problems.

Science begins with wonder at God’s creation and grows into careful observation, vocabulary, and simple investigation. We keep experiments doable and concepts clear.

History is the story of people under God’s providence. Younger students meet heroes, timelines, and vivid narratives; older elementary students connect eras, cause and effect, and civic basics.

Map skills, continents and oceans, landforms, and cultural awareness — beginning with home (Ozarks / United States) and widening outward.

Students practice seeing and making: line, color, shape, and composition. We include picture study of worthy works and plentiful hands-on creating.

Music trains ear, memory, and joy. Students sing, keep rhythm, learn hymnody, and gain early literacy in musical ideas.

Bodies are gifts. PE builds coordination, strength, teamwork, and cheerful perseverance through games, outdoor play, and simple fitness habits.
